2019 A Record Year of Giving

On December 20, 2018 we began deliveries using this truck. On December 20, 2019 it got a long overdue new look.

Why so long you might ask?

In the 365 days in between, this truck delivered 663,308 DOZEN eggs, or for the 98% of you who will do the calculation, 7,959,696 eggs.

Every single egg went to a food pantry or food bank serving families facing food insecurity to provide nutritious, high quality protein on a sustained basis. That means pantries serving people don’t just have eggs one week or once a year, they have them available all the time.

All our HATCH supporters, donors, followers: YOU played a role in making this happen. First and foremost we are so thankful for our generous egg producers, Rose Acre Farms and Midwest Poultry Services. This is only possible because of their vision and open hearts to give. We’re also grateful for our sponsors at Kroger, Elanco and Old National Bank for continuing to step up and help our neighbors.

Thank you to each person who donates to HATCH to help us carry out our mission. Many of you have “Liked” our Facebook page which helps spread the word. Others have simply offered words of encouragement.

Victor Hugo once said, “There is one thing stronger than all the armies in the world,  and that is an idea whose time has come.” HATCH is an idea whose time has come. A sustainable, non-profit entity that generates momentum by providing a nutritious, high quality protein to those that need it most. At the core of HATCH is the “HATCH Value Circle” that commits that every partner “gets something & gives something.” I can say with confidence that everyone currently involved will testify that what they are getting far exceeds what they giving. Such is the nature of a generous heart.

So as we bid a very successful 2019 farewell, we are excited for what 2020 will bring. HATCH ended 2019 delivering 60,000 dozen eggs per month. We currently have monthly orders for 2020 in excess of 110,000 per month and are aggressively looking for new producers to help fill the need. What a great “problem” to have!
